Recommendations addressed the site’s challenging subsurface conditions, including silt-clay soil and high groundwater table, and the critical nature of the installation.

Left Embankment Pipe Remediation
East Outlet Storage Dam
Moosehead Lake, Big Moose Township, ME
This pipe remediation project addressed concerns related to the potential for piping erosion of the embankment dam as a result of aging pipes that were installed to control groundwater at an abutting multi-unit camp. Two pipes were identified that passed between 4 and 6 feet below the embankment and were in place prior to construction of the dam; only the approximate locations of the pipes and discharge points were known prior to commencing the remediation work.

- Prepared bid/ construction documents
- Served as owner’s on-site representative providing construction quality assurance oversight and assisting with field design development
- Prepared record documents for FERC review
